Research. Policy. Advocacy.
To change systems, we need to understand the structural and cultural contexts affecting stress and healing.
Stress, Trauma, and Trauma-Informed Care
I study the role of stress, trauma, and adversity on socioemotional and neurobiological development, including the intergenerational transmission of trauma.
Youth Mental Health
There is an ongoing youth mental health crisis. Youth are increasingly seeking emergency psychiatric services in a system unprepared to support them.
LGBTQ+ Advocacy
LGBTQ+ students, trainees, health professionals, and patients have distinct needs that serve to be addressed.
Equity and Inclusion
Bias is pervasive in our lives. Learn about how I am working to understand and address bias and other factors contributing to inequities.
Structural Competency
Structural humility and an understanding of structural barriers is crucial to healthcare, research, and education.
Education, Art, Humanities
Stories are how we connect. They are powerful. Stories can educate, empower, enlighten, and heal.
Policy and Advocacy
Research should inform policy, advocacy, and systems change.
